Do your loved ones become the garden that you tend?

soul flares

Do you love people more than you know how?

Thanks go to Jess for mentioning she wanted to paint these lanterns; she reminded me that I wanted to photograph them!

Do your lives entangle, entwine like a drawerful of fine thread when you turn your head away?

Does it feel urgent, embodied, palpable, like a brilliant burst of light, yet also like something missing, something left undone, something not yet known?

Do you grasp at this existence, the physical, the visual, what you can touch and hold, in order to express something more intense?

Is it an energy that arouses, inflames, excites, energizes, consumes and exhausts?

Is it sensual in its most easily-expressed form, yet almost staggeringly powerful beneath the surface?

Do your loved ones become the garden that you tend?

Would you be happy if the people whose souls and hearts had captured yours were unhappy?

How can we reach into this well, open ourselves into growth and expression beyond the easiest proofs of love and care? How do we touch souls as one and two? And how do we do it without consuming or being consumed? How do we do it with presence and without grasping or holding on out of fear?

That’s what I want to know…

These soul flares are more than just now, more than just here. More than just you, or me, or her, or him. I want to touch you and to be touched. Not so much by your hands – only one form of me can know that pleasure – more by your soul, by your being – through all our forms.

I yearn to love all of all of you. I will learn.
