Where do these stairs go?

This is a sleeper favorite. I didn’t like it until I looked at it in Aperture. Something about how the dark black at the top and bottom feels like the letterbox bars you see when watching movies on TV, the way the rails leading down break the ‘box’, and the vividness of the oranges and greens from the lights and the wall.

  1. I can see why you call this a sleeper favorite! I also like the things you’ve pointed out. I like best the way the center rail is faintly glowing- from the sun? Like it’s a warm coil or something.

  2. I’m not sure what light the rail is reflecting – I think it’s the lights under the underpass – the sun was too low to be shining on that rail with the orangey light. Love how it comes down into the darkness tho!!
