What can I say? I was born on the East Coast!
I’m currently working “on a post for this blog”:http://jacob-stetser.com/play/entries/doc/retu… that I didn’t just write in one sitting. That’s not my usual method of writing; normally I just spew forth whatever’s sufficiently formed in my brain to become a coherent and intelligent bit of writing. (There have, of course, been failed attempts, and a few of those have disappeared or found themselves heavily edited when I came to my senses. Nobody’s perfect.)
If this process works well — and I actually publish the post within the next few weeks, I hope I can make a regular effort toward more in-depth, more thoughtful essays and entries about the topics that interest me.
I’m proud to announce that I’ve also begun a new project for someone who’s neither myself nor one of my friends – which is a step in the right direction in returning to the world of web development. That is, unfortunately, taking some of my time away from Clutter, but since I’m going through another rethinking phase as regards those tools, it’s not entirely a loss.
Within the next year – probably by the summer, I plan to be back on the mainland, either in Portland, Seattle, maybe San Francisco, maybe Chicago, or Boston. All of these cities have thriving tech communities as well as thriving yoga communities, and all share the wavelength I’m used to – not quite A-list living such as you might find in New York or Los Angeles, but a more erudite, refined and yet creative, youthful vibrance.
What can I say? I was born on the East Coast. There’s a certain je ne sais qua in my blood that draws me to these places. Maui may have forced me to confront the demons I’d been nurturing for so long, and it may have helped me to find my path, but I’ve never stopped calling the northeast ‘home.’
